I WILL ADMIT WE HOPPED ON EARLY
I’ll admit it, I like to consume new technology soon after it is launched. Maybe you are like this perhaps your not? I am what you could label as an (early adopter.) I look for emerging brilliance and get on quick and fast to see if what they say is true! I did this with the Paleo Diet and The Zone Diet. The thing is each one of these perspectives has much to offer. However, like they say, “There is more than one way to skin a cat.” Which is a terribly disturbing saying now that I say it out loud. So let’s discuss Crossfit. It has gone through some major changes and there are and still is a lot of question marks around the direction of the company and it’s affiliates. I’d like to take a moment to share my perspective on the matter.
WHY CROSSFIT HQ HAD TO SHOWCASE THE ELITE FIRST:
Crossfit had to start with the elite and work its way back to the public. If Crossfit HQ started with Grandpa Joe and how he has no more ankle swelling and can go on walks again, our Navy Seals would not hop on this program like they did. It just wouldn’t work when it came time to scale up for another population. However, the early adoption created an adaptation for our Military’s Elite. This was then easily scaled or tailored for grandpa joe’s needs. The Seal and Joe have the same mechanism to create movement from. The difference will vary by the intensity in which they need to move not necessarily the type. We all need to walk, run, jump, push, pull and throw to be healthy thriving creatures. Read on as I briefly touch on a couple of systems we have in our bodies.
THREE ENERGY SYSTEMS WORK TO REPLENISH ATP DURING EXERCISE:
- Glycolytic system
- Oxidative system
Every energy system during exercising is active, but one is always predominant. The duration and the intensity of the workout are going to determine that. Think of an electric car, the battery produces electricity the electricity is what the car uses as a fuel source to power the vehicle. ATP relates to humans in a similar way. It’s the fuel source of our cells!
I BELIEVE BY DEFINITION CROSSFIT CANNOT BE A FAD
What we have done is stolen the best practices from everyone else. If it increases fitness we will keep it. If it does not, we chunk it. If we increase broad capacity over broad time and mobile domain we will test it. Fitness is now quantifiable and measurable. This is the driver of someone’s health. It is health in a preventative domain as well as recuperative. By testing, we can guarantee progress and result. It is the best program in the world for this. Urban Animal Athletics is a proud partner of Crossfit Hq. I believe that it will only grow from here.
