What is it you specifically want in your life?
Have you really looked there and outlined exactly what it is you desire in your world? Or are you on a sort of autopilot mode, just cruising along with no idea as to what direction you are pointed? There are few who step back and look at the current operating reality of their life. Frankly, it’s a little nerve-racking. It may sound something like, ok I am this old now. I could have sworn I’d be drinking margaritas on an island that I own in Fiji by now! How did I wind up here, what were the specific actions I took to get where I am. It is not to be made pessimistic or cynical. If you also take that moment to look back say 10 years ago I bet you have 10x your situation. Maybe income is higher, maybe your wiser maybe your fitter. Maybe not and that’s alright, but it’s worth a look either way.
2. What is that one thing you need to do to level up?
For me it is rearranging my life to get up at 5am. Today I made it happen and I’ve been more productive in one morning/afternoon than my 3x my typical day. Even though waking up at 8:30 am is “normal.” Doing this and stepping back to look at the 30,000 ft view of what I am up to has a sense of clarity to it. So what’s your thing? What do you need to do to do and why haven’t you done it?
Follow these 5 Steps to create momentum.
- Take time alone to be quiet. You can learn more about your life in one hour of silence than you can by reading 100 books.
- Identify what you want for yourself, be specific, write it.
- Look there and find what are the 3 steps you must take? Write them down
- Schedule your first action task
- Execute and repeat
This can sounds ridiculously simple.
Most things are simple in nature but have a learning curve attached to them. The best way to learn is to make mistakes and not be afraid of it. Get out there and take action, whatever that looks like for you. Just get out there and do it.
